In this video I demonstrate how to get a patient from supine to sitting on the edge of the bed (SOEB) through side lying.
My communication with with the patient was good as I gained consent and explained what I was doing. I think I could have explained to her why I was doing it and how we would go about it, such as rolling on her side and propping up on to her elbow and then sitting.
In terms of the actual movement of the patient I think I did well except I could have had her left arm across the bed for her to roll into to be more stable. I had her roll towards me which made it more safe for her and minimised the risk of her falling off the bed.
